How have you have supported others to develop their practice?

I run an interdisciplinary degree for mature students called BA Professional Studies and in this position I have supported the degree team to develop their practice by working with them to ensure the teaching on the degree is inclusive and student-centred - this has involved peer observation and the co-development of resources. I was also the Inclusion Lead at the Lifelong Learning Centre from 2017-19 and in this position, I led discussions around inclusive teaching practice and decolonising the curriculum, as well as developing good practice around reasonable adjustments and around setting up group work in an inclusive way. I have also mentored people through the PRISE scheme and given papers to share good practice around adult education and co-creation at a number of conferences.

What are your current student education interests/new developments?

I have continuing interests in inclusive teaching practice, student-centred pedagogy, adult education and co-creation in curriculum design and assessment. I am interested in undertaking more work to address the hidden curriculum and to decolonise the curriculum - for me, student-centred pedagogy and co-creation are key ways to address these issues.
