How have you have supported others to develop their practice?
I regularly disseminate best practice in how to support under-represented students at institutional and national events to influence the teaching and learning practices of other educators. I also support staff via mentoring (PGCE & PGCAP mentor) and I'm an external examiner.
I am co-authoring a book titled: ‘Challenging the Myths of Working-Class Identities: A Class-Conscious Practice in Higher Education'.
What are your current student education interests/new developments?
- Supporting working-class students sense of belonging and mattering in elite HEIs
- Celebrating student faith, religion and spirituality in our curriculum
- Using a trauma-informed teaching practice and also highlighting the need to include a focus on the menopause when supporting students of all ages
