How have you have supported others to develop their practice?

I mentor several colleagues within the university and beyond. I have run workshops to support S/FHEA applications and mentored applicants. I have been a Head of School and have met regularly with colleagues to help them to develop their practice. I collaborate with researchers/practitioners around the world to share practice and develop research projects.

What are your current student education interests/new developments?

I am working on several projects at the moment:

  • Exploring the impact of alumni mentoring for music students;
  • Becoming an Entrepreneur (which aims to track the motivations and experiences of students on 'with Enterprise' programmes;
  • I have developed a Musical Identity Measure and am working to understand how this can support musicians' development;
  • I am thinking/writing about developing sustainable careers and employability ecosystems;
  • I am working on a project which focuses on student wellbeing and understanding barriers to seeking support;
  • I have co-authored the university's new Student Opportunities and Futures strategy;
  • I am involved in much of the Surfacing Skills work in AHC and the university more generally.
