How have you have supported others to develop their practice?
In my previous role as a Learning Technologist in the Digital Education Enhancement team, I supported academics to embed digital tools, like Buddycheck for student group work, into their teaching. I also co-lead the TALENT network in the Faculty of EPS, supporting teaching staff across areas including digital accessibility, writing learning outcomes, and creating a sense of belonging.
In the Digital Learning Design team, key projects I've managed include Academic Integrity, Student Fraud Awareness, and Scientific Problem Solving (a collaboration with academics at Leeds and the SWJTU joint school in Chengdu). I work with subject matter experts to ensure our digital courses are student-centred and effective, measuring engagement to improve course design and delivery.
I am also passionate about finding or creating development opportunities for members of my team, including experimentation with new technology, presenting at conferences, and pursuing accreditation.
What are your current student education interests/new developments?
As Course Design Manager in the Digital Learning Design team, I lead on the design of online courses for Leeds students and staff, using the principles of Design Thinking and pedagogical good practice.
I also lead a Continuous Improvement initiative, looking for ways to improve shared processes and collaborative working across the Digital Education Service.
