Welcome to the second Share, Adopt, Adapt workshop round-up! We had a fantastic line of events in August that saw over 200 staff attend. Here is a quick video trailer, where I pick out the highlights from each talk. All the details and links to the presentations are listed below. 

SAAW: Academic Integrity in 2020 

A lively and eye-opening event saw Rebecca Dearden discuss the University’s response to the June 2020 QAA report on contract cheating; Craig Evans spoke about his experiences uncovering cheating in open book assessments with specific reference to the use of bespoke essay mills; Helen Durham discussed her many years’ experience as the Academic Integrity Lead in the School of Geography, and LITE Fellows Lorna Waddington and Caroline Campbell spoke about their work in developing strategies to tackle breaches of academic integrity at the University of Leeds. SAAW: SCALA – Examples from Social Sciences and Humanities 

Victoria Taylor and Jane Dalton from Organisation Development and Professional Learning (OD&PL) spoke about the ABC method of learning design to support SCALA; Jackie Salter and Katharine Stapleford from the School of Education discussed their application of a student-centred, active learning approachusing the Trello tool, the Learning Design Tool and the ABC method. SAAW: How to make your Teaching Accessible and Inclusive in 2020.  

Kirsten Thompson from OD&PL spoke about an array of digital accessibility tools available at LeedsAlice Shepherd discussed the changes she has made to her teaching practices, particularly the building of Minerva sites using Blackboard Ally and the utilisation of MS Office’s accessibility features; and Jenny Brady discussed her work with the Inclusive Learning and Teaching development project, with a focus upon how we have altered our understanding of inclusive teaching in recent months.
